Oh, Brother
This is an oldie – one of my first tracks for this project. Working on a far more polished up version, but in the meantime you’ll get the idea.
Oh, brother
The pall bearers gather round
Oh, brother
It’s time we put me in the ground
The malaise that struck you down
Took you in your prime
For the fear of that night
Had bolted doors tight
But all
it took
was a bite
Oh, brother
I’m no longer beneath
Oh, brother
I’ve lost count of the holes at my feet
I think I saw you
Off in the distance
I could check, but I won’t take the chance
The scent of the grave
Has warned me away
Why do you glower at me?
Oh, brother
I can no longer sleep
Oh, brother
The hunger pains me too deep
The sirens have all gone away
The streets amidst disarray
All the lights have been doused
We’ve boarded the house
and
I hear you
scratching
at my door
